A long day

Yesterday was a long day with lots of visitors and well wishing. Thank you all for your continued prayer and support! Debbie had actually had a physically pretty good day. Vicki rubbed her back and helped her eat, what an angel!

Today is filled with more stuff. Eco Cardio gram this morning, followed by her last shower before putting in the porta cath. They are prepping her right now to get some blood platelets prior to the surgery to put in the cath.

She will not be back from surgery until later this afternoon, I doubt she will be up to visitors until later tonight.

Tomorrow she will take a dose of Doxorubicin (chemo) to try to slow this thing down and help reduce the pain. Dr. Starke reported that they would do just one dose and see what happens.

Still no news on a discharge day.

I know this seems like an odd place to give advice, and I'm sure you have more than you need right now, but it may help. The slower the chemo is infused, the less of the nasty side effects. If she isn't going to be discharged soon, ask if can be infused over a day or two. This is one of the drugs I took, and I had a 36 hr drip. Also, there are many, many N&V drugs, and she will probably be given several. If they don't work, ask to try other ones.
We're keeping your family in our prayers.

God is bigger than all of us and we do not know his plans. God bless you all -- you know you continue to be in our prayers.

Take care --

Give Deb a kiss from us before surgery. I'll call later this afternoon to see if she is up for visitors or a back rub this evening.
WE love you guys-

Just checking in to see how things are going today. Neither Wiley nor I slept all night thinking about you and praying for and with you mentally. Wiley's mother had one of those ports for years and they really are so much easier than shots in the arm and I/V infusions all the time. You will be glad you did this.

Did you feel the earthquake about dawn this morning? It shook our house pretty hard. Made the grandfather clock weights in the front hall shake and everything on the kitchen table dance. Wiley was downstairs reading everything he could think of about your situation and I was upstairs. Lasted about 20 seconds here.

How are you doing for food? Need supper at home, etc.? Kids need food? Grandparents? You know my cooking and so I am certain you will NOT request it, BUT Elaine--now that is a different story. Ha-ha.
