Done with PET scan

Well apparently a pet scan takes a long time! Debbie went down around 1:30. We sat down there for a bit then she got her shot of radio active stuff (all you Dr.s can cringe at my descriptions)

After an hour of letting it shoot through her body they started the scan. At 4:30 she was done, the staff said she slept through the entire thing. When I saw her walking down the hall I knew she was not feeling well. We waited for the transporter and she ate a couple crackers and talked about dinner. By the time we got to the room she was hungry. But when the food arrived she was only able to eat a few green beans. The nurse has now given her something for the nausea and she just finished visiting with Shannon and Kendra.

It was wonderful to find all the flowers in our room when we got back. They are beautiful and really brighten up the room! We got all the cards and notes left by everyone trying to visit. Thank you for those as well. Room 2120 at Boone Hospital is becoming a very popular place!

Debbie is more alert today but still in and out, if you stop in you can probably expect a pretty short visit prior to her dossing off. At least today I think she might remember you came! :)

Megan and Ryan are coming over tonight with Grandma Williams. They have cleaned the house and are ready to get mom home. Me too, now if we could just get rid of the pain.

Tomorrow we will visit with Dr. Bala and discuss the next step in treatment. Maybe later tonight I will enter some more of the medical information I have so tomorrows discussions will make more sense. If I don't get to it tonight I will try tomorrow.

Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers! And thank you for reading these ramblings, between my scattered brain, nurses, food service, and phone calls I have to keep going back and checking what I have written.

As a fun note, I got to lay in the grass outside the hospital while Debbie got the scan. So for everyone wondering how I am doing, God and I got to have a good time together in the sunshine with all of the glories of spring popping up. Green grass, blue skies, 70 some degrees and all the sun and wind to make life feel good!
