I spent the morning helping to get the kids off to school. When I came into the room Debbie had just finished visiting with Dr. Bala.
He has stated that they are waiting to hear second and third opinions, but at this point it is clear that her Lumbar spine, Ribs, Sacrum, both femurs, pelvis, and of course the bone marrow as a whole are full of Chondro Sarcoma. Dr. Bala is not too hopeful. These tumors do not respond well to Chemo. Obviously we will be seeking out every avenue for treatments that may be effective.
The Dr. has let her know that without changes in the progression she has maybe a year to live.
Vicki, you were doing a pretty good job of telling me to stop speaking negatively, I do believe in Miracles, now would be an awesome time to have one or two! God is big enough, and I know there have been many heeling's throughout time.
After going to bed at 12:30 I awoke this morning at 3:30 and just kept praying "If it be your will God, please bring healing" Currently we feel a little like Jesus in the garden. Fully aware that God is revealed in His creation. Comforted in His arms, and aware of His constant presence. Now if He could help reveal a miracle, or give some wisdom and knowledge to the Dr.s to find a way of slowing these tumors down and giving us much longer.
We are not on any kind of a death watch, Debbie still has a lot of good time left in her. Right now we just need to manage the pain, work on a cure, and spend lots of time with Megan and Ryan.
Please pray for us.....this is hard.
Andy

I am tyring to learn how to do this. Will try this and then write what I intend to say.
I know there is nothing I can say or write which softens the shock of the doctor report this morning. Please know that all of us at Boonslick Animal Hospital are here to walk the walk with you and to do everything humanly possible for both of you. For the past 10 years you have been part of our family. Your children have scampered down the animal hospital hallways at all hours as you have given dedicated service to God's creatures. Our phones have been busy fielding calls about you showing how much you mean to our community.
I won't pester you any more today, but please know that you matter so much and that we will do anything possible and everything possible to be of assistance.

We love you all so dearly. You, Deb and the kids have been so wonderful to me from the moment we met. I've always felt that Deb and I could have become closer if only we all lived closer together. We will do whatever you need in the coming weeks and months. Your family here is praying as well.
This is as hard a blow as you will ever receive. I pray that the Holy Spirit surround you with love, courage, hope and peace.
You are in our thoughts and prayers during this time. No words can ever express the shock and sadness that you are feeling. We are not near to Columbia, but prayers and love know no distance. We have spent time with you, as our family, and we will be here if you need us. Please do not hold back asking for help. Everyone you know is your support, and you can lean on us.
It's hard to believe that this was in God's plan. As strong as you and Deb are, he must have believed you could handle it and you could fight it and survive it.
My heart goes out to you and your family. I'm not good with words but I hope you know how much you mean to me. My prayers will continue. Along with everyone else who cares so much about you; you've have a special place in my heart since I started working with you. A friend that is a wonderful bouncing board when I needed to vent or when we both needed to let off steam. How I miss those times not working there just for the gabbing with you. I can honestly say with your spirit you have shown me to look past some of the junk that clouds judgement. You helped me through hard time and RIGHT I want to help you and your family. I know you have lots of offers but PLEASE call me for anything even if it's for a chocolate fix I will be there.
My family is saying special prayers for you. You are a strong woman and with God, family and friends no matter what we will be there for you!
Love ya! Shannon Dill
You and Andy and the kids are in our thoughts and prayers.
My boss went through renal sarcoma four years ago and is still with us, but it changed his priorities. He has testing done every 6 months. He is a definite miracle, and we are hoping you will be one too.
I hope the doctors can control the pain for you soon, for rest is important too. don't forget to ask for help, it really is okay to do that.
Best Wishes.
Beth and Pete
I've passed the history along to my sister who has worked at the Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland OH for many years. She worked for about 10 years with the department head of Palitive Medicine which included close ties with the cancer center there. She now works with the radiation docs. Not that there won't be good care here, but there may be cutting edge treatments or trials that wouldn't otherwise be known without a network reaching out and seeking more information for you. I believe there are miracles of healing today just as there was 2000 years ago when our Lord was here with us. He promised us an advocate in his absence, the Holy Spirit. And my prayer for each of you tonight is:may the Holy Spirit now surround you all with the love, grace, healing and understanding each of you need at this time.
Words fail, Andy. There's just a groaning heart, here. I pray you find the strength you need, and that you and your family feel God loving you through whatever might come.
Dr. Deb and family are in my prayers constantly. She is such a delightful person to be around and so full of love. Miracles do happen and positive thoughts can do wonders on how the body fights off disease. I can only hope that there is some kind of treatment that this sarcoma will respond too. Deb has so much to offer this world and we want to keep her with us for a long time. I would personally like to thank her for all of her knowledge she has shared with me and the best care I could have asked for with my dogs. We love you Deb!
Deb, If this doesn't work (again) I'll have to get out the "dummies" manual. No words will help with your pain and fear but I hope you can feel the prayers and love that are circling the globe for you. You have told me God hears all our thoughts and prayers. I can guarantee you he's getting a roar of love and support for you that he won't ignore. You began as my vet but quickly became a trusted friend. When I lost so many puppies, you got me through it. You are the reason I continue to breed/show dogs and you are the reason I know how to do it the right way. Sharing your belief in God has opened my heart to him again. Your family needs you, I need you, your friends need you, your clients need you and God needs you here to carry his word. Be strong, believe in his power, believe in yourself and believe that we are all here for you. Anything, anytime, call me, I'm here to help! My love, thoughts and prayers are with you all of my wakening hours, Bev
This is tough, but in your weakness, God is strong. In your time of darkness, God is your only hope and light. My oldest daughter was not supposed to live and now she spreads word and proof of God's ability to heal to others. God gave her a miracle and He can do the same for Debbie. The doctors tell you facts as they see them, you must tell Debbie and yourself what God says in His Word. Psalms 103 and 1Pet 2:24 3John2 Even if you don't see the miracle realized here, never lose faith in God's ability to perform one nor in his willingness to do so. God loves you and Debbie. I pray you come to know and understand the power of that love which itself surpasses all understanding! May God grant you strength, comfort and peace.
Andy, Debbie, Ryan, and Megan...You are all in my thoughts and prayers as you deal with this struggle in your lives. I know that you have God with you and that you will be comforted. I will have all of the prayer warriors I know pray for you!!
Love you all and God Bless...
Doug Hickman
